I'm currently working on a new project that is all embroidery in the hoop it has an Applique block then putting different elements in each block. It is called the Saturday Applique Sampler. My main focus is grain placement of any project. If you look at Harvest Dance in my quilt patterns. With this design without the proper placment it would have been difficult to piece with accuracy.
Within each row are 1/2 square triangles and flying geese blocks. I have you cut and piece everything so the entire quilt is cross grain vertical and length grain horizontal. This way when you put all these strips together it fits perfect. with no problem. I designed Harvest Dance in 2006 and have taught about grain eversince. This will be exciting to get this information out to new quilters who often strugle with piecing. With this process you will be able to piece SOOOOO much easier. Please check back soon as I'm working on getting video's soon about this process. This is especially important in embroidery in the hoop because of tile sceen's connections all need to be very exact or it is noticable, Hope to be up and with new and exciting things with my web site. if i just had the time to do it all, it would be wonderful.
The below designs are phots of the quilt in progress.
This uses embroidery batting that is by Floriani and I LOVE IT. it keeps your project shape perfect. Will bring in all the pictures soon. It is being done in many colors.
Thanks for looking at the designs.
