Albuquerque Folk Festival  June 2009  -  One Woman Quilt Show featuring many of my works.  This quilt is called Fire Dance.
This quilt represents my family with the lone star for my husbands Sioux Heritage. The eight sampler stars are for my husband and me, and each one of our six children.  The stars are quilted in snowflakes and the lone star is quilted in fire.  The entire quilt was quilted using metallic threads.  The stars were from Gail Garber's first book Sensational Stars.

Fish Under The Rainbow.
This quilt I entered into the New Mexico State Fair.  It won 1st place and Best Machine Quilting.  The pattern is from Jackie Robinson's Book Tessellations.  I took a class from her and started with twenty colors and when I started working on it at home I kept adding colors until I had 88 different fabrics.  The fish have buttons for eyes and fish beads around the quilt.  The quilting was with metallic thread , which changes color for every fish.  I quilted bubbles in the green and the fish have gills and lines.  This quilt also went to the Road to California Jury Quilt Show in 1999.

Celeste's Stars
July/August 1997 Issue Quilter's Newsletter Magazine on page 39.  This quilt started from a class with a group from Gail Garber's block-of-the-month in 1995.  I Designed the center medallion and three additional blocks, to set the sampler stars.  The quilt was made for my daughter who loves stars & moons.  Her middle name is Celeste.  This quilt was quilted using metallic threads and I used a metallic cording thread in the bobbin to quilt the stars in the corners.

Millennium Valley Splendor
Designed & Quilted by Betty Standiferd.  The year 2000, New Mexico Quilters Association Balloon Quilt raffled off this quilt at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.  I Designed, appliqued 23 balloons & quilted it.  I hand painted the background, then 100 balloons were appliqued by 80 of the members of the guild.  I also hand painted & taught several women how to paint so that 100 balloons were on the back using (fiber reactive thickened dye).

New Mexico Visions
2007 - First place Pictorial Art at Fiber Arts Fiesta, Albuquerque New Mexico.   Original design, appliqued & quilted by Betty Ann Standferd.  Designing this quilt was like taking different snap shot scenes of New Mexico. Machine applique with embellishments, including dimensional applique, yarn and turquoise, coral & other natural beads.
